NRA Basic Pistol Classes

The NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting course is a nationally recognized Pistol training course. Students will learn about safety, maintenance, and general knowledge in a classroom setting before heading to the range. Once at the range students will participate in marksmanship training to learn how to properly hold, aim, and fire a pistol. Our course will discuss and train students on both semi-automatic and revolvers. Rentals are included in course fee for students.

    NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting 8 hours

    The NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting course is a great way for you to learn the basics of pistol shooting from the top firearms training organization in the world! Students will learn and get a chance to handle Semi-Auto Pistols, Revolvers, and Single Action Revolvers.  The course consists of 2 parts:

    4 Hours of Classroom learning – Studnets will learn about the parts of the pistol, safe handling rules, loading and clearing a pistol, and general firearms knowledge that is helpful for shooters. 

    4 hours of Range learning, developing  the skills required to shoot a pistol safely and competently.

    Once on the range students may use their own personal pistol or one of the schools rental firearms.

    Successful completion of the course includes an NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting Certificate.

    Classroom:

    Comfortable attire.

    Range Training:

    Eye Protection and Hearing Protection. (Rentals Available)

    A reliable pistol. (Call ahead if rental will be used)

    Recommended: 3 Magazines | Speed Loaders.

    100 rounds of ammunition. (Rental students will be charged an ammo fee if needed)

    Appropriate range attire: Close toed shoes. No V neck style shirts. Dress for the weather considerations, the shooting range will be outdoors on the day of your qualifications. Sunscreen, and hats are recommended.

    Hydration and Food – Range is not within walking distance of a convenience store bring snacks and waters. There will be a lunch break.

     

    You do not need to own a firearm to attend our training; in fact, we recommend taking the course before making your first purchase, as the experience will help you determine which model best fits your needs. For those who require a rental, we primarily utilize Glock 17 and Glock 19 9mm pistols for our sessions. Additionally, we offer a variety of other options, including double-action revolvers, single-action revolvers, and .22LR pistols to ensure you have the right equipment for your learning experience.

    This course satisfies the training requirements to receive a Utah CCW Non-resident Permit. You do not need to have a California permit to apply. Get more bang for your buck by adding the Utah CCW to your list of licenses. 

     

    Pistol Marksmanship Workshop

    Students will participate in pistol marksmanship training to learn and reinforce how to properly hold, aim, and fire a pistol. All experience levels are welcomed at this workshop. 

    This curriculum is designed to take students and familiarize them with the use of the AR15 platform. This course will teach students the basic operation and manipulations required to begin firing the AR15 platform effectively. This course is not a Long Range rifle marksmanship course.
