NRA Instructor Courses
The NRA Instructor Development Program is a series of professional courses designed to transition experienced shooters into certified educators. Unlike student-level classes, these programs focus on “how to teach” rather than “how to shoot,” emphasizing the NRA’s “Total Participant Involvement” methodology. Candidates explore lesson planning, classroom management, and effective public speaking while learning to use various training aids and team-teaching techniques. By focusing on the administrative and pedagogical side of instruction, the program ensures that every instructor can deliver consistent, safe, and engaging training to their own future students.
Each discipline-specific instructor course requires candidates to demonstrate high levels of technical proficiency and safety through rigorous pre-course assessments and shooting qualifications. Participants spend time practicing classroom presentations and range-coaching techniques, receiving feedback to refine their ability to provide constructive praise and corrections. Upon successful completion of the training and the written examination, candidates become part of a national network of trainers authorized to conduct official NRA courses. This certification marks a commitment to maintaining industry standards and fostering a culture of responsible firearm ownership within the community.
This course satisfies the training requirements to receive a Utah CCW Non-resident Permit. You do not need to have a California permit to apply. Get more bang for your buck by adding the Utah CCW to your list of licenses.
Pistol Marksmanship Workshop
Students will participate in pistol marksmanship training to learn and reinforce how to properly hold, aim, and fire a pistol. All experience levels are welcomed at this workshop.
This curriculum is designed to take students and familiarize them with the use of the AR15 platform. This course will teach students the basic operation and manipulations required to begin firing the AR15 platform effectively. This course is not a Long Range rifle marksmanship course.
