Personal Protection Outside the Home
The NRA Personal Protection Outside the Home course is a comprehensive program designed to introduce students to the complex skills and mindset required for carrying and using a firearm in public spaces. This curriculum builds upon foundational defensive concepts, focusing on the unique challenges of responding to threats in an unpredictable environment. Participants explore advanced techniques such as drawing from a concealed holster, moving to cover, and maintaining situational awareness while navigating daily life. By emphasizing the transition from home security to public safety, the course helps individuals develop the disciplined habits necessary for responsible concealed carry.
Beyond the physical mechanics of defensive shooting, the program places a heavy emphasis on the legal, ethical, and psychological aspects of self-defense outside the home. Students engage in detailed discussions regarding the laws governing the use of deadly force, the aftermath of a defensive encounter, and the importance of conflict avoidance. The instruction is designed to help participants make rapid, informed decisions under pressure while prioritizing safety and legal compliance. Upon successful completion, students will have gained the essential tools to manage a firearm confidently and discreetly in a variety of dynamic, real-world scenarios.
This course satisfies the training requirements to receive a Utah CCW Non-resident Permit. You do not need to have a California permit to apply. Get more bang for your buck by adding the Utah CCW to your list of licenses.
Pistol Marksmanship Workshop
Students will participate in pistol marksmanship training to learn and reinforce how to properly hold, aim, and fire a pistol. All experience levels are welcomed at this workshop.
This curriculum is designed to take students and familiarize them with the use of the AR15 platform. This course will teach students the basic operation and manipulations required to begin firing the AR15 platform effectively. This course is not a Long Range rifle marksmanship course.
