NRA Home Firearm Safety
The NRA Home Firearm Safety Course is a comprehensive classroom-based program designed to establish a solid foundation in safe firearm handling and storage. This non-shooting course focuses on the essential knowledge and disciplined attitude required to manage various types of firearms and ammunition within a residential environment. Participants explore the mechanical functions of pistols, rifles, and shotguns, learning how to identify different action types and ensure they are safely cleared and unloaded. By prioritizing conceptual understanding and situational awareness, the course aims to promote a culture of responsibility and safety for everyone in the household.
The curriculum covers a broad range of topics, including the primary causes of firearm-related incidents, proper cleaning techniques, and the best practices for secure long-term storage. The program is intentionally inclusive and accessible, welcoming students of all ages and backgrounds who wish to become more familiar with firearm safety without the requirement of live-fire exercises. In addition to technical instruction, the course includes practical demonstrations of safe handling procedures. Upon successful completion, students receive a safety certificate, marking their commitment to maintaining a secure and informed home environment.
This course satisfies the training requirements to receive a Utah CCW Non-resident Permit. You do not need to have a California permit to apply. Get more bang for your buck by adding the Utah CCW to your list of licenses.
Pistol Marksmanship Workshop
Students will participate in pistol marksmanship training to learn and reinforce how to properly hold, aim, and fire a pistol. All experience levels are welcomed at this workshop.
This curriculum is designed to take students and familiarize them with the use of the AR15 platform. This course will teach students the basic operation and manipulations required to begin firing the AR15 platform effectively. This course is not a Long Range rifle marksmanship course.
