NRA Basics of Rifle Shooting
The NRA Basic Rifle Shooting Course is an intensive program designed to provide a thorough introduction to the world of rifle shooting. The curriculum focuses on establishing a strong foundation in firearm safety and responsible ownership, guided by industry-standard protocols. Participants spend the day exploring the mechanical functions of various rifle types, the components of modern ammunition, and the essential techniques required to operate a firearm with confidence. By balancing conceptual learning with structured practical exercises, the course ensures that every student leaves with a heightened sense of situational awareness and a disciplined approach to handling equipment.
Throughout the session, the instruction transitions from fundamental principles to the development of consistent marksmanship habits. The course covers the physical mechanics of shooting, including body positioning and sight alignment, to help students achieve repeatable results. Beyond the technical aspects of firing, the program also addresses the long-term responsibilities of rifle ownership, such as proper maintenance and secure storage. This comprehensive experience is designed to meet the needs of individuals at various skill levels, culminating in a formal assessment of the knowledge and techniques covered during the day.
This course satisfies the training requirements to receive a Utah CCW Non-resident Permit. You do not need to have a California permit to apply. Get more bang for your buck by adding the Utah CCW to your list of licenses.
